Information Gig Byte receives
- Account identity such as name, verified email and authentication identifier when sign-in activates.
- Public professional profile information, services, regions, pricing, approved images, audio and member-submitted YouTube links.
- Private PDF portfolio documents such as technical riders, stage plots and insurance records. These remain restricted to the member and authorized Gig Byte administrators unless a future workflow explicitly asks the member to share one.
- Private availability notes, Music Brief details, messages, agreements, support requests and moderation records.
- Booking, payment-status and earnings records when Stripe activates. Gig Byte does not intend to store complete card or bank credentials.
- Security and usage information such as IP-derived abuse signals, device/browser information and limited analytics events.
Why the information is used
- Operate accounts, profiles, discovery, requests, agreements and customer support.
- Deliver transactional notices selected in account preferences.
- Prevent abuse, secure the service, investigate reports and preserve audit history.
- Process and reconcile payments when payment services activate.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting and recordkeeping duties that apply to the operator.
Public and private information
Only approved profile information and provider reviews from verified bookings are publicly searchable. A customer may confirm a Music Brief for the protected provider opportunity board, but Gig Byte shows only redacted event needs, general location, date and working budget to approved providers. Customer name, email, phone, exact address and private notes remain hidden. Reviews about a client or venue stay in the protected member workspace; they do not create a public customer directory. Members should not place email addresses, phone numbers or outside payment handles in public profile text.
Service providers
Gig Byte uses hosting, database and private object storage services provided through Sites and Cloudflare, Supabase for authentication, YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedded player when a member adds a YouTube video or playlist, Resend when transactional email is configured, Stripe when payments activate and Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. A provider receives information only when its corresponding feature is configured and used.
Retention
Information is retained while an account is active and as needed for the purposes described here. Deletion requests are reviewed rather than applied blindly because completed agreements, payments, disputes, fraud-prevention records and legal obligations may require limited retention. Data no longer needed should be deleted or de-identified under an approved retention schedule.
Your choices and requests
- Download a structured copy of the account data available through the account privacy center.
- Request access, correction or deletion through the protected account privacy center.
- Control optional product-news email separately from operational booking, payment, message and profile notices.
- Use the protected account privacy center for requests. Each request is recorded in the owner queue until a published support channel is available.
International use
Discovery is intended to be worldwide. Information may therefore be processed in the United States and other locations used by service providers. Any international transfer mechanism or region-specific notice required for transactional launch must be confirmed with counsel.
Security and children
Gig Byte uses access controls, private-by-default drafts, validated uploads and audit records, but no online service can promise perfect security. The marketplace is intended for adults age 18 or older and is not designed for children.
Design principles and review
The privacy design follows data minimization, purpose limitation, access control and clear request handling. Final applicability of Florida, California, European or other privacy laws depends on the business’s operations and must be reviewed by counsel before transactional launch.
